MINING SOLVENT

An isoparaffinic organic solvent with mixtures of naphthalenes and aromatics that provide the hydrocarbon with greater solvency power. It has a high boiling range, which results in a high flash point, low evaporation rate, and low vapor pressure.

Uses and Applications

Diluent in the solvent extraction process
The mining solvent (diluent) is used to reduce the viscosity of the organic phase (extractant + solvent). It facilitates contact between the organic phase and the aqueous phase rich in the metal of interest.
